DRC: Over 180 children dead in Ebola outbreak as thousands need mental health support
At least 189 children have now died in the latest Ebola outbreak in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) with thousands more living with fear and trauma and in need of mental health support after witnessing loss in their communities.
EU Member States urged to safeguard children’s rights ahead of new migration regulation - Children Helpin Hands campaign
The call comes ahead of the formal adoption in September of the EU's Return Regulation that was approved in the European Parliament in June. The regulation goes against the EU’s own rules on fundamental rights, Children Helping Hands said, including on the suspensive effect of appeals.

Children Helping Hands is launching a child-focused €4.5 million regional initiative funded by the European Union to save lives ahead of climate-fueled emergencies in Southeast Asia. Working with partners and governments, the programme will help communities, schools, and local authorities across Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam turn early warnings into early action, protecting children and families before floods, storms, and other extreme weather events become disasters.
